The African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) on Saturday organized a consultative workshop for senior officials of the police force drawn from all sub-cities of Addis Ababa.

The consultation hosted by the forum's Children's Legal Protection Center was conducted with the view that high importance was attached to the senior member of the police in protecting the rights of children, the centre said.

The consultation also aimed at improving the impression towards the right of children, to evaluating the consequence of the previous training to find out the obstacles faced while in the process of implementation, and the way forward.

The two-day consultative meeting, the officials from CLPC made presentations on the protection of the right of children under the law and the role of the police.

The African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) is a leading, independent pan-African policy and advocacy centre on child rights.

ACPF was established in the conviction that putting children first on the public and political agenda and investing in their wellbeing are fundamental for bringing about lasting social and economic progress in Africa and its integration and participation in the world economy.

The Forum aims to provide a platform for dialogue; contribute to improved knowledge of the problems facing children in Africa; identify policy options; and strengthen the capacity of NGOs and governments to develop and implement effective pro-child policies and programmes.
