It is the first time the games are hosting a village.
The 10th edition of the FENASCO A games currently going in Bafoussam will go into history as one with a lot of innovations. Apart from the introduction of feminine football as announced by the Minister of Secondary Education, Louis Bapes Bapes, the Local Organizing Committee has introduced a new item. This is the putting in place of a games village. The games village, which is the first since the inception of the FENASCO A games ten years ago, is situated on the left side of the main entrance into the Lycee Classique Bafoussam school complex.
The different stands constructed with locally made materials have variety of stands. On these stands are exhibited a variety of products. The first of these stands is occupied by medical officials of the national aids committee who have not only been sensitizing the students and public on the dangers of AIDS and other sexually transmittable diseases, but carrying out free screening test with instant results.
The second stand, is that of the national employment fund where officials of the structure are drilling the public on the different types of professional training available and on how to apply for jobs. For a greater understanding, officials of the institution have put in place several professional charts aimed at orientating the public. When any visitor gets into the stand, he is drilled and given a hand-out before answering to his questions. Most often, these visitors are eager to find out why applications deposited at the fund usually take a long time to materials.
Apart from institutional stands, there are also stands for the sale of dresses and shoes. Most these dresses are from the grass field, while the leather shoes are from the northern provinces of the country. Furthermore, there are also nutritional stands where Cameroonian dishes from all the nook and crannies of the country are offered at very law cost. These dishes are undoubtedly accompanied by brewery drinks whose stands are omnipresent.
