Angola: Table Tennis - National Team Ascends to Third Group

Angolan table tennis rose to the third group of the ranking of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), after participating in the 49th World Cup, held last March in the Chinese town of Guangzhou, ANGOP learnt on Tuesday.

According to the national team's coach, Abílio Cruz, everything was due to the effort and dedication of the three players who were placed 19th in the standings table.

In the competition that counted on the participation of nearly 200 countries, the Angolan senior males' team comprised of Hermenegildo Agnelo (national champion), António Lemos and Jackson Nazaré, who occupied the fourth position of the "Q"series, with highlight to the victory against the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, by three sets to one (3-1).

With this result Angola finished the competition in front of Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan and Tanzania.
