The leader of Angola's opposition FNLA party, Ngola Kabangu Wednesday here affirmed that the six years of peace allowed the country's socio-economic and political stability, as well as the improvement of the population living standard.

Speaking to ANGOP in light of the sixth anniversary of Peace and National Reconciliation, to be celebrated on April 04, the FNLA leader underlined that the current main concern should be the consolidation of this achievement that happened in 2002 and democracy in Angola.

Regarding to the social level, Ngola Kabangu recommended a greater attention to the health and education sectors in order to guarantee the wellbeing of the Angolan population.

Ngola Kabangu seized the opportunity to explain that with peace the political task of his party were reinforced, due to the free circulation of people.

According to the politician, during the six years of peace, the democracy, in the country, as within political parties, was strengthened, quoting the holding of the next September's legislative elections as an example.

In 2002, the international community witnessed the signing, on April 04, of the Complementary Memorandum of Understanding to the Lusaka Protocol, marking the end of the 27 years of the war that devastated the country.

This memo was signed by the ex-chief of staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Armando da Cruz Neto, and the high commander of the former UNITA forces, Geraldo Abreu Muengo "Kamorteiro", in a ceremony witnessed by the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, representatives of the international community, as well as national and foreign entities.
