A Belgian investor, Mr. Jans Leemans has arrived in Liberia on a four-day business tour of the country to explore the possibility of investing in the cement, rice, shipping and mining sectors.

A release signed by the Director of Press at the National Investment Commission (NIC), Margo Cooper, said the visit of Leemans is intended to contribute to economic recovery and reconstruction of Liberia.

While Mr. Leemans is in Liberia, he is expected to hold talks with NIC Chairman Dr. Richard Tolbert, Commerce Minister Frances Johnson-Morris, Information Minister Dr. Laurence Bropleh, National Port Authority Managing Director George Tubman and Lands, Mines and Energy Minister Dr. Eugene Shannon.

Mr. Leemans who is the Chief Executive Officer of GEMMATA NV in Belgium has already acquired 3 ½ acres of land on the Monrovia-Roberts field Highway for the construction of a five star hotel, the release said.
