Angola: Moxico - Church Leaders Highlight Government's Commitment to Peace

2 April 2008

Luena — Church authorities in eastern Moxico province have praised the Government's commitment centred on the reconstruction of socio-economic infrastructures during the six years of peace.

Speaking to ANGOP Tuesday, the provincial coordinator of the Christian Churches Council in Angola (CICA), Paulino Alberto Sande, said that the government's efforts, particularly in Moxico province, are mainly focussed on education and health sectors, where the construction and rehabilitation works of schools and health centres are in progress across the province.

Paulino Alberto Sande, who is also pastor of the Congregational Evangelic Church in Angola (IECA), noted that he has been following up the government's economic and social programme considered positive by the residents.

He also advises the churches and their faithful to continue praying in favour of peace and consolidation of unity and national reconciliation.

In his turn, the head of Spiritual Church in Angola, João Francisco, stated that "Peace is a common property and it should be preserved by all".
