Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Kgosi, the former private secretary to Vice President, Ian Khama, who yesterday took over on the retirement of President, Festus Mogae, has been promoted to director of intelligence and security.
Another army graduate, Col. Duke Masilo becomes Deputy private secretary to the President, where nearly returned, Samuel Rathedi will serve as senior private secretary, according to permanent secretary in the Office of the President, Eric Molale.
A listing of appointments and transfers dated Monday 31st March 2008, which become effective 'immediately', Molale posts permanent secretaries as:
Office of the President, Augustine Makgonatsotlhe is at Defence, Justice and Security whilst Badumetse Hobona takes over as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. At the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife & Tourism, Mathias Chakalisa takes over as Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Agriculture, where Lucas Gakale takes the reins. Samuel Outlule is promoted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Others are Ministry of Health, Newman Kahiya, Ministry of Local Government, Thato Raphaka, Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water, Gabaake Gabaake Ministry of Works and Transport, Kago Moshashane Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology Festina Bakwena.
Additional appointments are:
*Bridgette Poppy John as Coordinator of the Education Hub under the BEAC Strategy as well as Coordinating the Second University Project.
*Marianne Nganunu takes over the Botswana Innovation Hub as Coordinator.
*Akolang Tombale is appointed the Diamond Hub Coordinator under the BEAC Strategy.
*Modise Modise is appointed the Coordinator - Mmamabula Project.
*Gabolekwe Tlogelang is appointed the Coordinator, Medical School
Project as well as being the Coordinator of the Medical Hub under the
BEAC Strategy.
*Gerald Thipe is appointed the Transport Hub Coordinator under the BEAC Strategy including the Coordination of the Kazungula Bridge Project.
*Charles Ntwaagae is appointed Ambassador.
DEPUTY PERMANENT SECRETARIES
*Neo Asafo-Adjei transfers to Office of the President to become Deputy Permanent Secretary, Administration.
*Mustaq Moorad transfers to Office of the President to become Deputy Secretary - Defence, Justice and Security.
*Baeti Molake is promoted and transferred to Ministry of Education as Deputy Permanent Secretary.
*Sasara George is promoted and appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
*Matsae Balosang is promoted and appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Health.
*Boipolelo Khumomatlhare is promoted to Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government while Tsaone Thebe transfers from Ministry of Lands and Housing as Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government.
*Jacob Thamage is promoted to be Deputy Permanent Secretary at
Minerals, Energy and Water Resources.
*Terrence Siamisang and Lewis Malikongwa are appointed on promotion as Deputy Permanent Secretaries at Ministry of Works and Transport.
*Tutu Tsiang transfers to Ministry of Lands and Housing as Deputy
Permanent Secretary.
*Mothusi Nkgowe is promoted and appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture.
*Tefo Kgotlhane is appointed Deputy Director at Directorate on
Intelligence and Security Services.
OTHER APPOINTMENTS
*Mmamosadinyana Molefhe is re-designated Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
*Nkoloi Nkoloi is re-designated Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
*Daphne Kadiwa is promoted and appointed Chief of Protocol.
*Oteng Tebape becomes Senior Private Secretary to the outgoing President.
*Tefo Mokaila is appointed Private Secretary - State House.
