The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, stressed the need to carry out the necessary preparations at the earliest on the part of the farming community so as to effectively implement this year's development programs aimed at achieving food security. He made the remark in a meeting he held from March 27 to 29 with area administrators, PFDJ members, representatives of the people, heads of associations and village elders in the sub-zones of Serejeka and Gala-Nefhi.

Noting the significance of utilizing the already introduced technology for boosting agricultural production, Mr. Tewolde indicated that the regional Administration would extend interest-free loans to needy farmers for purchasing cows. He further pointed out that there are plans to plant over 3 million tree seedlings at the community level and that dedicated farmers would receive awards.

The participants of the meeting expressed readiness to back up the program.
