Huambo — The governor of central Huambo province, António Paulo Kassoma, has appealed to the local residents for preservation of water stations and supply system, made available to all the consumers based in the region.
This was said during a hand over ceremony of the first phase of water station and treatment system of Kulimanhala river, signed by the Angolan Government and Chinese company "CMEC", which rehabilitated 70 kilometres of pipeline, to benefit over 4,000 people.
"I hope residents will enjoy and make good use of the systems available, do not cause any damages or deflection along the water conduit, as it is a serious investment that requires positive cooperation by the beneficiaries", said the governor.
Paulo Kassoma added that the implementation of the project "water for all", Huambo city and on the outskirts, will be possible only with the construction of a new central of water station and treatment of the river Kunhonhamua, expected to kick off this year.
The first phase of rehabilitation and betterment of abstraction system of water in Huambo city, worth more than USD 22.5 million and its inauguration is scheduled for August, 2008, and will benefit some 90,000 inhabitants.
