Malanje — The first provincial secretary of ruling MPLA party in northern Malanje province, Cristóvão da Cunha Wednesday praised the efforts made by the Angolan government to achieve peace and restore tranquillity and improve the population's living conditions.
The politician made these considerations while presiding over the opening ceremony of the colloquy dubbed "Angola six years of peace and reconstruction, premises for stability and progress", promoted by MPLA's department of co-ordination of studies and analysis, part of the commemoration of the 6th anniversary of peace.
The official briefly summarised the war that the country faced, in particular Malanje province, emphasizing that the government organised itself and equipped the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) with modern technical means in order to restore peacefulness and develop local production.
He also said that Angolans expressed joy at the signing of the Luena Memorandum of Understanding, which symbolised the achievement of peace in Angola.
