Cameroon: Hon. Motase Wants CPDM MEME I Reorganised

Former National Assembly Vice President, Hon. David Motase Ngoh, has called for the reorganisation of Meme I CPDM Section.

Motase was speaking to the press on March 24 on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the CPDM party.Motase, who is a member of a CPDM Meme I faction, lamented that their section wasn't reorganised during the last primaries.

According to him, this has caused a lot of problems and that is why they decided to form a faction. He said it was the only way they could express their grievances to the Central Committee of the party.

He further disclosed that he doled out FCFA 700,000 to his faction militants for the smooth celebration of the 23rd anniversary to make their voices heard.According to Motase, Ekale Mukete is not a legal president but operating on a temporary mandate while awaiting the reorganisation of the section.

Motase, who contested during the last reorganisation as Section President, said that if their section is not restructured, it would lead to more trouble. He accused Ekale for being dormant and autocratic, reason why some of his executive members and sub-section presidents decamped to join his faction.

Reacting to Ekale's stance that party militants would be punished for disrespecting hierarchy, he said Ekale would be the first to be sanctioned.Motase also said Ekale disrespected party hierarchy by sending militants with placards to demonstrate against that Prime Minister, Ephraim Inoni.

Asked whether he couldn't reconcile with Ekale for a stronger Meme I CPDM, Motase said he hasn't a permanent enemy. He said if Ekale could show them the olive branch and be ready to work with them, they would give in.

It would be noted that Meme Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, Magloire Abath Zangbwala, had warned Motase's faction members who wanted to organise an anniversary at the Kumba Municipal grandstand, while the main celebration took place at the CPDM party secretariat.

The Post learned that the SDO promised to arrest and detain any faction militant caught at the grandstand. The faction members reportedly transferred their celebration to a hotel at the eleventh hour. But Ekale had described Motase's faction as detractors with a private sponsor.

He had said that Meme I Section was reconfirmed after three foiled reorganisation attempts. He equally dismissed claims that he is autocratic, dormant and adamant to reconcile.
