Angola: Kwanza Norte - Politician Highlights Benefits Brought By Peace

The first provincial Secretary of MPLA in Kwanza Norte, Daniel António said Thursday in Ndalatando city that peace achieved in 2002 has brought unmeasured benefits to Angolans.
The politician made these statements during a colloquy promoted by the ruling MPLA party under the theme "Angola-six years of peace and rebuilding, premises for stability and progress" held in the hall of the Higher Pedagogical School of Kwanza Norte on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of peace, to be commemorated on 4th April.
According to the source, the period of war hindered the Angolan Government to carry out many tasks aimed at improving the population's wellbeing.
He said that the war that destroyed the country and brought as consequence migration of thousand of people, destruction of human lives, bridges, railways, factories and other infrastructures only contributed to the country's destabilization.
Daniel António added that the period of war had turned into peace and it is helping the Government to build and rebuild several social undertaking.
"In little time of peace, the Government has proved to grant prosperity to Angolans", he underlined.
He also highlighted the figure of the president of the ruling MPLA Party and of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, for his contribution to peace achievement, pacifying the population and providing them better living conditions.

The event was attended by the militants, supporters and friends of the governing MPLA party, religious entities and the provincial government as well as students.
