Menongue — The provincial assistant secretary of Angola main opposition party Unita to Kuando Kubango province, Vitorino Uhenya, recognised this Thursday, here, the efforts of the Government in the recovering of the economy and reconstruction of the country.
Speaking to Angop, amid the celebration of the sixth anniversary of Peace and National Reconciliation, to be marked on April 4th, the secretary of Unita highlighted the importance of this date since it was the Angolans who made such an achievement.
According to the partisan official, the maintenance of peace during these six years allowed the union of Angolans, showing their responsibility and maturity.
"It means many things, once the war was ended, and now we should work for the country's development, union and national reconciliation", Mr Uhenva underlined.
Six years ago, the international community witnessed the signing, on April 4th, the Memorandum of Understanding Complementary to the Protocol of Lusaka, thus marking the end of 27 years of war that ravaged the Southern African country.
