Angola: Vietnam Wants to Strengthen Cooperation With Angola

The Head of State and top leader of Vietnam's party, Nong Duc Manh, Thursday in Luanda voiced important the strengthening of cooperation ties with Angola, aimed at the achievement of the prosperity of the two nations.
Nong Duc Manh was addressing an opening of the official talks between the delegations of Republic of Angola and Socialist Republic of Vietnam, leading to the signing of new general accords of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, which will renew the previous ones, signed in October 1978.
According to the Vietnamese leader, the need of strengthened cooperation between the two countries is important, hoping that they result in equality, reciprocal benefits and mutual help for achieving a joint prosperity of both people and nations and for peace, stability and development.
Nong Duc Manh, who urged to continue working for strengthening of bilateral ties, mainly in the fields of health, education, agriculture, transforming industry, oil, culture and the sending in of specialists, said that the results achieved in the cooperation between the two countries have not yet met the expected potentials of the two sides, thus appealing for strengthened cooperation and mutual support.
He also expressed satisfaction over the success resulting in the programmes of reconciliation and reconstruction in Angola, as well as the economical development and the resolution of the social problems and the improvement of social living conditions of the population.
However, the Vietnamese leader who congratulated the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, for the attained goals, has also expressed conviction about the unity and national reconciliation policy that will enable the country to continue attaining high successes in the reconstruction and defence.

He highlighted the role played by Angola and President José Eduardo dos Santos in stability and development of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), region.
