Eritrean citizens living in the Sudan held a public meeting early this week, during which they reaffirmed their readiness to fulfill what is required of them.

In briefings he gave to the participants on the objective situation in the Homeland, the Eritrean Ambassador to the Sudan, Mr. Issa Ahmed Issa, pointed out that Eritrea's efforts to promote peace in the region has gained acclaim at the regional and global level.

Expressing their readiness to safeguard the nation's sovereignty and back up the ongoing development programs, the participants of the meeting donated 29 million Jinee for the national cause. It is to be noted that earlier the citizens contributed 27 million Jinee in support of the cause.

Meanwhile, a sports competition is underway as part of preparations to colorfully celebrate the 17th Anniversary of Eritrea's Independence Day.
