Monrovia — According to Forbes Magazine, an American national business entity report released on February 11, 2008, showed that Lakshmi Mittal has jumped from fifth position of the world's wealthiest people to fourth place in this year's ranking.
The report is based on an annual ranking of the world's wealthiest people which total net worth is an estimate measured in United States dollars which is also based on the closing stock prices of the stock exchanges on which each person's company is listed.
Stock prices are defined as shares of ownership in a corporation, and exchange rates are defined as how much one currency is worth in terms of another. This list only represents each person's valuation on a single day due to daily fluctuations among exchange rates and stock valuations.
Mr. Lakshmi Mittal, the Chairman and owner of ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steel company who has launched an investment of US$1.5 billion in post war Liberia is gradually climbing the ladder of success. Who knows whether in two to three years he might become the world's wealthiest man as he is $15.0 billion away from the third place holder, Bill Gates, one time world's richest man and $17.0 billion away from the first place holder, Warren Buffett.
All these successes require hard work and determination; therefore we must commend Mr. Mittal for his hard work over the years.
