The stance was taken during the CPDM 23rd anniversary celebrations in Nkor.
Militants of Bui V (Noni council area) have once again expressed thanks to President Paul Biya for all that which has brought them joy since the birth of the Cameron Peoples Democratic Movement, (CPDM). Above all the militants have pledged support and loyalty in all that is done to ensure peace, political stability and progress. The declaration came in speeches, songs and a motion of support addressed to President Paul Biya by the militants of Noni to mark their festive commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of the CPDM.
In his address to comrades at Nkor ceremonial grounds on 24th March, 2008, the section president of the Bui V (Noni), Alfred M. Forgwei thanked President Paul Biya for his shrewd leadership responsible for the peace, political stability and democratic progress Cameroon has enjoyed since the birth of the CPDM. He called on fellow militants to stay off disruptive actions perpetrated by misguided compatriots, most of them unscrupulous politicians. With respect to this, he appealed to the central committee delegation to make it clear to the authorities in Yaounde that the militants in Bui V of Noni council area, declared: "No to wanton vandalism, no to looting, no to burning down of houses and destruction of roads, no to violence and yes to dialogue, yes to peace, yes to development and yes to the amendment of article 6 paragraph 2 of the 1996 constitution."
The WCPDM section president, Mrs Nfon née Doris Ndiyun, the CPDM, Niliam Kibu and the section chief executives, in their own speeches expressed their commitment to all that is being undertaken by the party to ensure pace, democratic practice and development of the Noni council area. Earlier, the Lord mayor of Nkor council Shey Michael Kume in his welcome address prayed that militants of his council area demonstrate political maturity by working hard to attract more development to the council area.

In response to the speeches, the Head of the Central Committee delegation to Bui V, Shey Dr Peter Mabu, after thanking the Noni people for victory in the 22nd July 2007 council and legislative election called on militants to be more committed to the developmental objectives of the party, thus working hard for more victories. This year's theme for the celebration of the party's 23rd anniversary, national integration, peace and political stability, Dr Mabu explained, is indeed a challenge to all party militants. National integration, peace and political stability, he expatiated, are all ingredients of development which those who truly love themselves and their country must embrace. He reiterated that it is the right of every country to amend its constitution in respect of national realities. In this light he called on militants to continue with the nature spirit they demonstrated by not joining those who believe they can achieve their rights through the destruction of property and even lives.
The CPDM government, the Head of Central Committee Delegation explained, should be appreciated for having started consultations about the birth and take off of ELECAM, the organ which will be charged with seeing that elections in the country are free, fair and transparent. When elections are free and fair in a democratic country, what in effect decides how many times a compatriot can be given the chance to govern is the ballot.
The other central committee delegates to the Bui V (Noni) section, the Hon. Thomas Langdji, alternate member of parliament and Ms Petrolina Tah of the Ministry of Youths - Yaounde briefed the militants on what government is doing to alleviate poverty by increasing salaries hence increasing the purchasing power of Cameroonians, and the mechanism put in place by the ministry to assist youths in different projects. The divisional officer for Noni sub division; Mr Achu advised the Noni people to keep to the peace and political maturity they demonstrated during the strike action which took a different turn. He appealed to militants to keep the theme of this year's anniversary celebrations and commit themselves more sacrificially to the developmental needs of not only the Noni sub division but also Bui and the country at large. The day ended with song and dance, food and drink.
