Cameroon: In Quest of Deliverance?

Financial impropriety in the church. Knowing what churches stand for, this topic might sound out of place.

Unfortunately, nowadays, a thesis can be developed from the theme. More and more, the church, which is expected to be an epitome of moral probity, can be considered as fertile grounds for embezzlers. The "thou shall not steal" commandment has simply been thrown into the dust bin. Too bad!

You need to see the way some church-goers tussle to be part of the financial committees of their place of worship. And what about these "men and women of God" who fight tooth and nail to serve only in urban areas? I even hear that some of these Pastors and Fathers have a penchant for churches attended by dignitaries! Why the preference? Your guess should be as good as mine. The affluence in which some of them live speaks for itself.

The most vexing aspect of the phenomenon is the kind of "sanction" meted out to some of those found guilty. They are offered prayers; prayers asking God to forgive and deliver them from temptations! Aren't they lucky? Little wonder, the list of those guilty of mismanaging church funds keeps swelling by the day. Who knows, they might as well be seeking deliverance prayers!
