Angola: MPs Attend Capacity Building Seminar in South Africa

A delegation of the National Assembly, led by MP Paulo Mateta, left Luanda Friday for Johannesburg, South Africa, to participate on April 08-09 at a seminar on promotion of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) parliamentary capacities.

Speaking to Angop, MP Paulo Mateta said that the meeting, jointly promoted by SADC Parliamentary Forum and the United Nations, had drafted a regional strategy for the development and use of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the region parliaments.

He added that the purpose of this event is to establish Electronic Parliament, from the comprehension of member states on the strategy of ICTs implementation project in each state.

The Angolan delegation comprises opposition Unita deputy Sebastião Tungula, a technician of information centre Joao Pombal and an employee of the National Assembly.
