Angola: MPLA Leader Praises Churches for Pacifying Spirits

Luanda — The first secretary of the ruling MPLA provincial committee in Luanda, Bento Bento, Friday, here praised the role played by churches in pacification of spirits, after the achievement of peace in 2002.

Bento Bento, who was speaking on the sideline of an ecumenical mass, celebrating the six years of peace that was held on Friday at Cidadela Desportiva, said that the churches have been contributing a lot to the enlargement of the country.

The first secretary seized the moment to praise the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, for the way he led the nation up to the achievement of peace.

According to partisan official, the country is changing after the arrival of peace and thanks to the efforts of the Government the situation still stable.

In these six years of peace, he referred, Angola counts on a lot of construction works, focussed on bridges, roads, hospitals and schools.
