Luanda — The friendly and official trip by the head of State of the West African nation of Benin on April 07-08 to Angola will mainly be marked by discussions on increment of economic cooperation between the two countries.
In his first visit to Angola, President Boni Yayi and his delegation intend to talk on issues related to fishing, oil, geology and mines, health, culture, hotel and tourism, Angop has learnt.
With this visit, it is due to be signed an agreement on creation of a joint commission between Angola and Benin and also a cooperation accord.
An agreement between Angola's Foreign Affairs Ministry and Benin's Foreign Affairs, African Integration, Francophone and Benin Nationals in Overseas Ministry will also be signed.
Benin is an African county which borders on the north with Burkina Faso and Niger, on the east with Nigeria, on the south with Gulf of Guinea and on the west with Togo.
The economy of Benin is a less developed and it depends on agriculture. Cotton farming comprises 40 per cent of NGP (National Gross Product) and it is closely to 80 per cent of export volume. Benin also exports textile, crafting products and cocoa.
Maize, bean, rice, peanut, cashew, pineapple and cassava are the main products of subsistence.
