The Chief Scribe of the Inter-Africa Coffee Organization (IACO), Josefa Sacko, arrives in country on Saturday at the invitation of the Government of Liberia through the Liberian Produce Marketing Corporation (LPMC).

Accordingly, the IACO Chief Scribe is expected to meet key stakeholders in the coffee sector of Liberia as well as a number of government officials.

According to an LPMC release, Madam Sacko's visit follows the 47th General Assembly held in Yaounde, Cameroon last October during which the plight of Liberian, CR Congo and Sierra Leonean coffee was placed high on the agenda in terms of reforms.

The LPMC delegation headed by its Managing Director, Nyah Mantein, at the 47th General Assembly presented the picture of Liberian Coffee to IACO and expressed the burning need for its revitalization.

The visit of the IACO Secretary General is presumed in most quarters of the coffee sector to raise curtain over the lost image of the sector as a result of the 15 years of war and rekindle the spirit of Liberian coffee to once again regain its place as far as IACO program is concerned.
