Luanda — The secretary general of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA), Luis Nguimbi, is starting Tuesday a visit to northern Zaire province, Angop has learnt.
The official told Angop his visit aims at learning about the accomplishment of the recommendations from the 2nd national seminar on elections, held in February this year, under the motto "electoral campaign".
"Churches have been recommended to mobilise their members to participate in the training CICA and civil society organisations have been running in order to transmit a correct message to the population about matters of elections", he explained.
The seminar had as its purpose to update churches leaderships on electoral campaigns under the sub-topics "The political and juridical dimension of the campaigns in an electoral process" and "contribute of the civil society for the success of the electoral campaigns".
Luis Nguimbi is also to travel later to central Huambo and Benguela provinces with the same purpose.
