Namibia: 'Voice of the Nation' Falls Silent

8 April 2008

Windhoek — A POWER failure in the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's (NBC) current affairs department left viewers and listeners to the broadcaster's radio and television services without their early morning news fix yesterday.

The NBC's public relations department said yesterday that the failure occurred in the room where the division's computer server was located.

Service was reportedly affected from around 07h00 to 09h00.

Television watchers missed the usual 'Good Morning Namibia' show, while radio listeners were more upset over the lack of radio news.

The NBC did manage to solve the technical problem in time for the popular 'National Chat Show'.
