Gambia: President Viera's Special Envoy Meets Jammeh

President Dr Alhaji Yahya Jammeh yesterday received in his office at State House, Banjul, Mr Joao Gomez Cardosa, Minister and Director of Cabinet at the Presidency and a special envoy of President Bernado Nino Vierra of the Republic of Guinea Bissau.

Speaking to journalists soon after his audience with the Gambian leader, Minister Joao Gomez Cardosa said he is in the country to meet the Gambian leader as a special envoy of President Viera and to deliver a specil message to President Jammeh. He lauded the time accorded him to meet President Jammeh describing it as manifesting the excellent cordial relationship betwen the two countries.

He then stated that it is time to boost the relationship between the two nations, not only through diplomatic relations, but also by such visits as this, noting that it will greatly cement the ties between the two nations. He added that with the goodwill of the two Heads of States, they are ready to work hard to develop the two countries.
