Luanda — Angola and Benin signed Monday in Luanda a general agreement of cooperation in the economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields, as part of the visit of that West African country's president, Boni Yayi.
The agreement was signed at the end of official talks between both countries' delegations, in the Presidential Palace, in the presence of both presidents, José Eduardo dos Santos and Boni Yayi.
Angop learnt that the parties also signed an agreement for the re-establishment of the Benin/Angola Joint Commission, in addition to a protocol of cooperation in matters of common interest signed between the Foreign ministers of Angola and of Benin.
The delegations of both governments signed as well a verbal process on the talks held on Monday.
On Angola's side, the agreement was signed by Foreign minister, João Bernardo de Miranda, whereas for Benin the accord was signed by the minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Moussa Okanla.
On the fringes of the talks, both statesmen met privately to analyse aspects linked to the international situation, with highlight to the African continent.
