Liberia: Barrolle Basket Ball Team Falls Again

8 April 2008

Monrovia — Mighty Barrolle has now lost two successive matches in the ongoing 2008 National League round two of the Liberia Basketball Federation (LBF).

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, the Rollers were beaten 62-82 by LPRC Oilers, runners-up of the past league season.

Prior to that match, Mighty Barrolle went down 62-70 at the hands of Dream Team I last Wednesday.

It now remains to be seen whether these series of defeats would not hamper the chance of Mighty Barrolle qualifying for the playoffs of the first division league.

During the reign of Lewis Browne as President, Barrolle used to be among the powerful basketball clubs in the country, but financial crisis has placed the Red Boys among the underdogs these days.

Meanwhile, also on Sunday, Deviers fell to Barnersville Celtics 45-58 in game one, while the second match saw SOS Trotters bowing to FUBA 54-61 in the lower division.

The weekend festivities began on Friday, April 4, 2008 with Cestos Mogars losing to Sacbase 55-59. Subsequently, Wildcats were overcome by Cardinals 78-79 before Uhuru Kings walked over Flames 64-45.
