Luanda — Beninese head of State, Boni Yayi, left Tuesday Luanda, after a two-day official visit to Angola, during which the two African countries signed a general accord of economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.
The agreement was signed Monday at the end of the official talks between both states' delegations, held at the Presidential Palace, during a ceremony attended by the Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos and his Beninese counterpart, Boni Yayi.
Angop learnt that the parties also signed an agreement for the re-establishment of the Benin/Angola Joint Commission, in addition to a protocol of cooperation in matters of common interest signed between the Foreign ministers of the two countries.
Before leaving Angola, the president of the West African nation of Benin, Boni Yayi, also participated in a special session held at the National Assembly ( Angolan Parliament).
On the sidelines of the talks, both statesmen met privately to analyse issues of bilateral interest, as well as matters linked to international situation, with highlight to the African continent.
The Beninese leader received Monday courtesy greetings from the Angolan Prime minister, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
