Gambia: Court Urged DPP to Make Formal Submission

Naceesay sallah wadda, presiding judge in the on going the carnegie mineral case at the high court yesterday April 8th 2008, urged the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Emmanuel Fagbenle, to make a formal submission on the need for the 1st accused, Carnegie Minerals Company, Gambia Ltd, to be serve with a notice through the 2nd accused person, Andrew Charles Northfield.

The presiding Judge's decision followed after the DPP on Monday April 2008, made submissions for the 1st accused, Carnegie minerals company, The Gambia Ltd to be serve with notice through the 2nd accused, Andrew Charles Northfield, General Manager (GM) of Carnegie Minerals Company, whom he described as the most senior official of the company available

This submission was strongly countered by lawyer mene, counsel for the second accused Andrew Charles Northfield. Delivering her ruling ,the high court judge Naceesay Sallah Wadda, noted that the court having heard submissions made by the DPP and the counter submission made by the defence counsel, urged the DPP to make a formal submission before on Thursday 17 April 2008.
