Dulee Johnson has expressed his profound apology and regret to the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and the technical team of the senior national team, The Lone Star, for his inability to make it for Liberia's friendly match with Sudan on March 26, 2008.

"I'm deeply sorry for that inconvenience. It has always been my wish to put country first and that has always been my trend. However, this is as a result of circumstances beyond my country," Johnson told his media team in a solemn voice.

German-born Antoine Toney Hey named young Johnson as part of his 18-man squad against Sudan in a FIFA sanctioned day for international friendly matches. The Liberian international had just returned from a preseason camping in Portugal. His Swedish club, AIK Solna, has a crucial first league match this weekend hence his inability to make it.

He said: "It was part of my initial plans to play against Sudan before leaving for Portugal and I'd even accepted the invitation from the LFA. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the new coach for the call up in the national team. I hope it never happen like this again."

"It's not deliberate and I hope to get the chance some other time. I am with the team in spirit and they have my full support. I want to encourage my team mates to prove their best to improve Liberia's ranking," he said.

The prolific midfielder commended the LFA executives and the Sports Ministry for their support to the national team and urged them to back them throughout to qualify for the 2010 Cup of Nations.

"With the full support of the LFA, the technical team and the players' cooperation Liberia can qualify for Angola 2010 and would cause a stir even at the World Cup in South Africa," he promised.
