Buea — The Community Credit Company, CCC Plc, is a second category micro finance institution accredited by the Banking Commission of Central African States, COBAC, by decision No D-2001/11 of 10th January 2001 and a decision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance No 00334/MINEFI/27/7/2004 of 27 July 2001.

Meeting at Ayaba Hotel on March 29 for the 10th Annual General Assembly, Board members and shareholders of CCC Plc adopted a budget of FCFA 1.6 billion for business operations this year.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of CCC Plc, Professor Peter Ndifon Teke, who presided over the meeting, expressed satisfaction with the massive attendance and thanked the shareholders and encouraged them to continue to work hard for the company to achieve desired results. He lauded the efforts of the legal advisers of the company and appealed for continuous control and reduction in cost.

In a press briefing shortly after the meeting, Professor Ndifon said he is proud of the achievements CCC Plc has registered so far since creation and announced a three-year business plan will be put in place that might propel the company to a full fledged bank of repute.

He hinted that there are possibilities of opening new branches to add to the 11 CCC branches in other parts of Cameroon where the company does not exist to serve the population that has been yearning to enjoy the services and products of CCC Plc.

This task was to be championed by CCC Plc General Manager, Charles Mbah.Shareholders were urged to continue with the good customer-company relationship that exists and to ensure accuracy, creditability, rapidity and security of funds at all times.

In a bid to encourage workers, the General Assembly resolved to improve on the working conditions of its workers to facilitate growth. It was also resolved that the capital of the company be increased. However, the General Assembly frowned at vandalism and theft perpetuated at one of its branches recently in Bonaberi, Douala, during the February nationwide strike action.

It is worthy to note that CCC offers a range of one stop services to clients with a steady and verifiable flow of income both in the private and public sectors, small and medium size enterprises, associations, non-governmental organisations, and para-public institutions. So far, CCC has successfully developed a network of 11 branches and a solid clientele network with over 15,000 accounts within that network.

Community Credit Company CCC Plc, created in 1998 in Bamenda, has a staff of 185.
