Ugochukwu William is alleged to have raped many children at the Mokolo neighbourhood in Yaounde.
William U, 44, has been arrested and taken to court for raping many female children at the Mokolo neighbourhood in Yaounde. Sources at the 2nd District Police Station at the Mokolo neighbourhood say William who is a trader at the Mokolo market intimidated and raped female children around his neighbourhood and bribed them away with either a FCFA 25 or 50.
William U met his doom on 4 April at about 7:00 p.m. when he attempted to rape a N., 13 and K., 14 respectively. The same sources at the 2nd District Police Station said on that fateful evening, the mother of the girls had sent them along the road to buy roasted fish. On their way back home, William called them to his home. After intimidating the children, he forced them into his living room and immediately closed the door. As William got into a tussle in an attempt to rape them, one was able to open the door and force her way-out. When William realised she had ran out of his room, he immediately released the other. When the mother of the girls realised that they had spent much time, she decided to send her son to search for them. On his way, met them screaming in tears.
When the children narrated their ordeal to their parents, they decided to confront William who refused all accusations. William noted that the children had come to his home to ask for food. Authorities at the 2nd District Police Station said as they were about to close procedure for the rape accusation against William. Another woman, Mama Marie, in the same neighbourhood with William, filed an accusation against him for having raped her seven year old daughter. Reports given by Mama Marie indicate that when William was arrested by the police and taken out of the neighbourhood, one of her neighbours, M., told her that she had seen her daughter come out of William's room several times. This declaration caught the attention of Mama Marie especially as she said that her daughter had complained of pains around her stomach. After medical examination, it was realised that she been raped several times by Williams.
