Ndalatando — The 2008 academic year at the Higher Pedagogic School in Kwanza-Norte was official declared open on Wednesday in Ndalatando, at a ceremony presided over by the dean for educative reform of the state-run Agostinho Neto University (UAN), Pedro Felizardo Bondo.
A total of 526 students have enrolled to attend this academic year, 245 of which are first year's.
On the occasion, Pedro Bondo said that the expansion of higher education teaching countrywide is one of UAN priorities, which is part of the strategy for training of competent cadres to contribute to the country's development.
The school is teaching such subjects as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, Portuguese/English and Portuguese/French languages, as well as infant educators. The 15-classroom school has 35 teachers among nationals and foreigners.
