The Italian Cooperation, along with the Angolan Institute of Cinema, Audiovisual and Multimedia (Iacam) will run a "Cine Praca" development and social communication project, Angop learned.

According to a note issued by the Italian Co-operation, the initiative follows a CinemArena project that was successful in Mozambique, Morocco and Lebanon.

Under the project, a cycle of films and documentaries will be displayed in five of the country's 18 provinces. The purpose of the project is to explore the entertainment and aggregation capacity of the cinema to sensitise public on matters of minors rights, landmine risk, food security, sanitary emergency, epidemiological surveillance and hygiene and correct use of water.

Iacam will hold the first International Festival of Luanda Cinema in November this year.
