Acting director of Health in northern Uíge province, Quiala Godi, urged health technicians to contribute to the awareness of the population for the preservation of environment.

Speaking to the press in Maquela do Zombo district, some 293 kilometres north to Uige city, the official said that during the activities of the world environment's day, April 7th, it was considered fundamental to sensitise the population to avoid unnecessary burning in the forests, cutting down of trees, as well as other polluted effects.

The sensitisation of the population aims specially to call the attention of the aforesaid effects, in order to avoid the proliferation of actions that cause the rise of greenhouse gases.

During the same period, the official discussed issues related to the causes and risks of climate changes.

Quiala Godi recognised the efforts exerted by the government in the improvement of sanitary activities in the province, as well as in the equipment of infra-structures of the health sector.
