Gaborone — Police are looking for a woman who stole a vehicle from a man after the two went home together on Friday night.
Assistant Superintendent Bonnie Bareki said that the two had just met at a night spot and they went to the man's home where they were to sleep. "Upon arrival the woman insisted on watching TV when the man went to sleep. Apparently the man had taken a few drinks and quickly fell asleep.
The woman then searched the man and stole a cellphone, wallet, and car keys and drove away. The car was recovered in Lobatse on Monday morning after it developed mechanical problems," the police boss said. Bareki added that some men offered to help the woman but after she had bought the spare parts she vanished and the Samaritans alerted the police. It is suspected the stolen car was heading for South Africa.
The police chief cautioned men to always take details of women they go out with before giving them access to their property.
