Angolan Finance minister, Jose Pedro de Morais, Thursday in Luanda said he expects an increase in investments and trade between Angola and China in a near future, in view of the increment of technological assistance resulting from the interaction between the two countries.

The minister said so while addressing the sixth conference of the cycle of talks named "Angola: realities of today, and perspectives of tomorrow", whose main theme was "China: a precious, though polemic and mysterious partner". Taking into account the perspective economic growth, both in Angola and in China, trade between the two countries is expected to increase more and more in an independent way, the minister said. "In this particular aspect, the private sector is the propeller of the growth of the commercial ties between China and Africa, instead of governmental agencies or ministries of each State", he explained. For this reason, he added, new investment or credit for Africa will depend more on the debt's sustainability, governance reforms and environment protection.

"The availability of information, cooperation and co-ordination among the authorities of the receptor country and development partners are other determining factors for new investments," the official added.
