Asmara — The Sudanese Cabinet of Ministers lauded the all-round development of relations between Eritrea and Sudan and called for the further enhancement of partnership cooperation.
In a discussion it conducted yesterday focusing on the visit of President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir to Eritrea, the Sudanese Ministerial Cabinet assessed that it was successful in all aspects. The Cabinet also reached an understanding that the development already registered in Eritrean-Sudanese political ties should continue in other domains as well.
Also in briefings he gave, the Secretary General of the Sudanese Cabinet of Ministers, Mr. Omar Mohammed Saleh, stated that the readiness Eritrea has expressed to make due contribution towards resolving the Darfur problem and the Sudanese government's welcome of such a stance would provide additional impetus to the development of relations between the two countries.
It is to be recalled that the Sudanese President conducted an official working visit in Eritrea on April 9, during which Presidents Isaias Afwerki and Omar Hassan Al-Beshir held talks on developing bilateral relations, enhancing partnership in trade and investment and Eritrea's role in ensuring a comprehensive peaceful solution in the Sudan, as well as other regional and international issues.
