Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, returned home Sunday afternoon, after attending the extraordinary summit of the heads of State and Government of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) on Saturday in Lusaka.

The head of State was received at the Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport by the acting speaker of the National Assembly (Parliament), João Lourenço, by the prime minister, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, and by members of the Government.

In Lusaka, José Eduardo dos Santos and most of the heads of state and government of the 14 SADC members countries discussed the Zimbabwe post-electoral crisis, to seek a solution to the political crisis in that country of the region.

The SADC heads of state praised the people of Zimbabwe for the orderly and peaceful way they behaved during the voting on March 29 this year.

On the other hand, the summit welcomed the role played by the facilitator of the community, the South African president, Thabo Mbeki, responsible for establishing a constructive dialogue between the government and the opposition.

The meeting also analysed the report from the chairman of the organ of cooperation of politics, defence and security of the continental organisation, delivered by president Jose Eduardos dos Santos.

Angola as chair of the coordination of the SADC organ of politics, defence and security has led the mission of observation of Zimbabwe elections held on March 29 this year.
