Angola: 1º De Agosto Beats Sagrada Esperança 1-3, Rises to 2nd Position

1º de Agosto, deputy champion now stands 2nd in the national first division championship of football, after beating on Sunday Sagrada Esperança da Lunda-Norte by 1-3, in a game of the seventh round of the competition, Angop learnt played in Luanda.

With this victory, 1º de Agosto has 14 points, the same as Santos FC (third) that was defeated 0-1, at 1º de Maio de Benguela's home.

Interclune, the championship's title holder, was defeated (0-1) on Sunday by FC Bravos do Maquis, whereas Desportivo da Huila and Benfica do Lubango, both of Huila province, had a 1-1 draw.

In its turn, Petro do Huambo was beaten (0-1) by Desportivo do Libolo do Kwanza-Sul. At the opening of the round, on Saturday, Petro de Luanda and ASA drew (1-1). On the same day, Benfica de Luanda defeated Kabuscorp by 3-1, in a game played at Luanda's Coqueiros Stadium.
