Luanda — Speaking to the press at the end of an audience granted by the prime minister, the British diplomat explained that the meeting analysed the economic cooperation and British investments in the country, expressing her pride for Great Britain being the second biggest investor in Angola.
Patricia Ruth Phillips considered this first meeting with the Angolan government official as "an honour", with whom she also talked about the rapid growth of the Angolan economy.
On the other hand, the UK ambassador considered "very important and positive" the role being played by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to solve the crisis in Zimbabwe.
SADC gathered extraordinarily last Saturday in a summit in which it urged the electoral commission of Zimbabwe to guarantee the strict obedience of the law and principles of the community and the guidelines of a democratic government.
The Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos represented Angola at this SADC summit.
