The Management of Cellcom says its newly introduced GPRS services would enable subscribers send messages from desktop to mobile phones.
The new technology would also enable cellcom users send photographs, video and audio recordings as well as articles by email to someone in the United States, Asia and other parts of the world.
The management said the use of the 'edge technology' would enhance communication links among cellcom and those outside Liberia, adding 'you can now use your mobile phones to transfer photos, send messages.'

The management made the disclosure Saturday at a press conference when it demonstrated the speed and strength of its new GPRS service in a PowerPoint presentation.
According to the Communication Officer of Cellcom T. Max Jlateh, the new GPRS service would be restricted to only cellcom users and it is expected to cover the entire country, especially where the company has signals.
He said the cellcom subscribers would not be required to purchase additional card for the GPRS service but would be requested to register and they would be issued a pin-code
