Eritrea: South African Tourists Impressed With Hospitality And Strong Organizational Capacity of Eritrean People

A visiting group of South African tourists touring the continent by motor car stated that they have been impressed with the generosity, hospitality and strong organizational capacity of the Eritrean people. The head of the group, Mr. Kingsley Holgate, indicated that the tour is aimed at exploring Africa, promoting the anti-malaria campaign and conveying messages of peace and goodwill among countries. He added that the group has so far collected the goodwill and opinion of more than over 5,000 individuals.

Stating that they started the tour on April 27 in South Africa and so far covering 27 countries in Africa with four others remaining, Mr. Kingsley said that the group have already covered 45,000 kilometers.

Mr. Kingsley further explained that Eritrea has registered encouraging development and that the tourism sector has promising prospects. He also commended the impressive achievements this country has scored in controlling malaria.

Another member of the visiting group, Ms. Mashozi Holgate, on her part stated that the Eritreans are very polite and that one can travel freely in the country with a sense of security.
