SAN communities in the Ohangwena Region have received a donation of two vehicles through the office of Deputy Prime Minister Libertina Amathila.
The first vehicle is sponsored by the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the National Planning Commission for leadership and skills training for underprivileged groups and youth in the Ohangwena Region.
This project is managed by a Project Steering Committee consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Youth, the National Planning Commission and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).
The other car was donated by Unesco's Education for Children in Need of Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme.
The programme, which was founded in 1992, raises funds for local projects working with children in need.
Since its creation, the programme has supported some 340 projects in 94 countries and raised US$34 million.

The car will be used by an education project in the Ohangwena Region, focusing in particular on providing early-childhood development for San children from four to six years of age.
