Tshesebe Police are investigating a case in which a 16-seater Combi killed two government officers and injured others last week.

Police say that the Combi overturned near Ramokgwebana border area with six people including the driver on board.

Tshesebe Police Station commander Superintendent Mojaboswa Mathitha said that a 36-year-old man died on the spot when the combi overturned in the wee hours. "He was an employee of the Department of Immigration," he said. Mathitha added that another man was confirmed dead at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital the following day. He was an employee of Botswana Unified Revenue Services (BURS).

The police said that they are holding the driver of the car to help with investigations. "At this point, we do not know but he might later be charged with dangerous driving causing death," he said.

Mathitha revealed that the vehicle was carrying two drums of petrol but fortunately they did not explode. He said that other people who were in the Combi sustained serious injuries while the driver was treated and discharged.
