The Senegalese-born musical star, AKON has arrived in the country. Akon arrived in the country this morning at the head of an array of over a dozen musical artists who have come to storm the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium to make the Cellcom sponsored-show grandiose.

The Senegalese born but American based pop star is expected to perform at the SKD Sports Complex in a major show that has already brought Monrovia to its knees.

Several tickets and prices are being offered by Cellcom, a renowned GSM company to welcome Akon to Liberia.

The popular 'R and B' artist is also expected to perform at the SKD tomorrow beginning at 07:00 p.m. while the gates would be opened at 03: 00 p.m.

Upon arrival at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) this morning Akon was welcome by Information Minister, Dr. Lawrence Bropleh, Cellcom Board Chairman, Willis Knuckles, officials and top brass of Cellcom.

Today, another musical show organized by the Crusader for Peace and some local Liberian artists will take place at the ATS with no cost attached and 'free for all'.

According to the organizers of the show, it is intended to raise public awareness of curtailing the proliferation of small arms, sexual based violence, and rape, among others.
