The Management of Firestone Liberia continues to receive commendations from Liberian-owned construction firms for including them in its reconstruction program.
The latest of these commendations comes from the Amos Construction Company which is currently building additional modern housing units for employees of Firestone Liberia assigned in Division 30, outside Harbel.
The company which is among several Liberian- owned construction firms hired by the Management of Firestone Liberia to partnership with it in the ongoing reconstruction program of housing units for its dedicated employees and their families, described such collaborative effort as "a welcomed initiative" aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Liberian construction engineers and their respective firms in helping to rebuild Liberia.
The General Manager of the Company, Mr. Amos Gibson, speaking at the site in Division 30, expressed delight that Firestone Liberia continues to award them contracts and also encourage them to participate in the reconstruction of damaged facilities and construction of new ones within its concession area.
According to Mr. Gibson, the relationship currently existing between Firestone Liberia and Liberian-owned construction firms should be considered as part of efforts to empower the owners of these companies to assist their fellow compatriots in terms of job creation.
"Firestone does not only give us the contracts, but also supply us with construction materials to enable us to speedily perform the task on time." Mr. Gibson disclosed.
The young Liberian contractor cautioned his fellow Liberians to take their assigned task diligently and work hard at all times. Mr. Gibson speaking further added that as a Liberian, it was an opportunity provided by the Management of Firestone Liberia in facilitating a viable avenue for job creation in post war Liberia.
He lauded Firestone Liberia for what he called "its gesture" and stressed that it is about time that Liberians appreciate the partnership with the company by remaining committed to doing whatever piece of job they (Liberian contractors) are hired to do in the interest of national development. "I see these developments being undertaken by Firestone Liberia as ventures that will buttress government's developmental initiative in this part of the country.
These modern houses, school buildings and medical facilities mushrooming in the concession area are also contributing to the reconstructing process of our country." Mr. Gibson observed.
