Cape Town — The speaker of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Angola, Roberto de Almeida was invited by his counterpart of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Choe Thae Bok, to visit his country, in a date to be agreed, in the framework of the reinforcement of relations between both institutions.
The invitation was made during a meeting held at the International Conventions Centre of Cape Town, South Africa, in light of the 118th conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), happening since Monday.
Choe Thae Bok availed the opportunity to thank Angolan authorities for the worthy reception granted to the president of the Presidium of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Yong Nam, during the visit he paid to Angola last March.
According to the Parliament speaker, his counterpart also informed him about the evolution of the situation of his country, which recently signed various accords with South Korea, whose implementation might contribute to the country's reunion.
Roberto de Almeida said that the parliamentary relations between both institutions have been straightened more, through the sharing of frequent impressions, by the respective embassies, as well as during international events. The Angolan official is attending the 118th conference of IPU that is expected to end next April 18.
