Namibia: Tennis Veterans Playing in SA

Namibia is taking part in the Veterans Inter-provincial Tennis Tournament in South Africa for the first time with an over-40 team competing in Stellenbosch this week.

The team includes: Men - Grant Rau, Pietie Loubser (captain) and Jannes Brandt.

Ladies - Soekie Louw, Sonja Martens and Minda Kuschke.

The over-50 team will be participating in Potchefstroom from May 5 to 9.

The men taking part are Danie van Vuuren, Eric Muller and Terence O'Flaherty (captain).

Amanda van Dyk, Rihetta Swart and Beryl Holder make up the women's team.

The over-55 team will be flying the flag for Namibia in their section to be held at Klerksdorp.

Here Jan van Zyl (captain), Fram Malan and Victor Kulikowski make up the men's team, while Anna-Marie van Reenen, Emmie Maritz and Ingrid van Graan comprise the women's team.

Here are the results of the recent Veteran's Tournament played in Windhoek on April 4 and 5.

Men's Singles - Over 35: Grant Rau, runner-up, Kallie Heese; Over 45: Eric Muller, runner-up, Terence O'Glaherty; Over 55: Jan van Zyl, runner-up, Moses Marthinussen Ladies Singles - Over 45: Amanda vanDyk, runner-up Rihetta swart; Over 55: Beryl Holder, runner-up: Annamarie van Reenen Men's Doubles - Over 35: Grant Rau and Victor Rigby; Over 45: Terence O'Flaherty and Eric Muller; Over 55: Jan van Zyl and Andries Mouton Ladies' Doubles - Over 35: Minda Kuschke and Guliana Palmhert; Over 45: Amanda van Dyk and Rihetta Swart; Over 55: Beryl Holder and Mari-Anne Basson
