The National Chairman of the Botswana National Front (BNF) Bashi Sengwaketsi has written a strongly worded letter telling the Member of Parliament for Lobatse, Nehemiah Modubule to desist from talking to the media.

The letter, which has been leaked to Mmegi, is dated April 9. It accuses the former Chairman of the BNF of breaking the party's code of discipline by publicly arguing that the BNF should go to congress instead of a national conference in accordance with the position stayed by the party's Publicity Secretary, Moeti Mohwasa.

Segwaketsi also urges Modubule to be exemplary and to behave in a manner that will build the BNF in accordance with the party doctrine.

"You are therefore hereby warned in writing that this behaviour of yours; going to the media to divulge internal Party matters is unacceptable and the Party will not hesitate to proceed with disciplinary action against yourself," the letter reads.

Modubule has been advised to use appropriate structures of the party if he wants to voice his opinion.

Modubule has confirmed receipt of such a letter, saying it was delivered to him by the party's Vice President, Olebile Gaborone.

"I cannot say anything at this juncture because I do not understand the contents of the letter", he told Mmegi.
